A woman has been left gobsmacked after opening up a £2.20 Too Good To Go bag to discover the wealth of treats inside. The bargain hunter, known as ThriftyClair on social media, explained how she bought a Too Good To Go bag from Subway – and safe to say she’s pretty pleased with it overall.

In her video she said: “It actually worked out great for me because I had planned on making some sub sandwiches for lunches this week. I knew it was a bit of a gamble but as the store was right near the gym I thought for £2.20 it was worth a go.”

She went onto explain how she ended up with four footlong sub rolls and 10 cookies.

She added: “That’s a lot more cookies than I expected to be given and I ended up taking five to my son’s nursery and gave them to the staff to enjoy.

“What was surprising was these items were picked fresh from the counter and oven where bread and cookies would be picked for any regular customer. Not brought out of the back half stale or anything like that.

“So now I’ve got enough bread to make some lovely, at home subway sandwiches for the next couple of days and some tasty treats too!”

Wanting to compare her bag to others out there, she added: “So on the whole, I’m quite pleased with this. But what do you think?”

Commenting on her video, one user said: “Someone else Too Good To Go bag was bad, they had just thrown the bread in, chopped pieces.”

In response, she said: “Chopped bread. That’s mad. I’d have been requesting a refund instantly.”

But she isn’t the only one to have praised the Too Good To Go app in recent weeks as another shopper shared her delight over an M&S bag.

In her TikTiok video, user Ella Marie said: “I don’t think any bag is going to beat this one. Let me show you everything I got for £4, I don’t even know where to start, there’s so much in here.”

She goes on to show viewers the sandwiches, ready meals, savoury items and sweet treats she managed to take home with her, adding: “I definitely think this bag was worth the £4.”

To get your own Too Good To Go bag, download their app and scroll through the nearby stores participating in the scheme.

You can ‘reserve’ bags before collecting them to save disappointment when arriving at your chosen store.

All bags contain items that would have otherwise ended up in the bin due to their sell-by dates – with most costing around £2 to £5, depending on what store you select.
