An insider secret has exposed the way shoppers can get the best bargains

B&M shoppers looking to get their hands on the best bargains that the shop has to offer need to do some careful planning and time their trip perfectly, some have claimed. People can get major discounts minutes after they land on shelves by following this simple rule.

The chain store – which sells a variety of goods from homeware, DIY, gardening, groceries, toys, games, health, beauty and more at hundreds of outlets across the UK – is known for its affordable prices. In a Facebook post, Hot Deals UK claimed that shoppers need to keep a certain day and time free if they want to get the best deals before they sell out or change.

In the clip, they said: “Have you ever wondered what the best time to shop at B&M is? B&M store managers often get an email on Tuesday about what they need to discount the following day.

“Therefore, if you go to B&M on Wednesday morning at about 10am, you’ll get the best pick of the bunch. You will be [one of the] first to see what discounts and deals they have in store.”

The shopping specialists claimed that “good deals and discounted items absolutely fly off the shelves at B&M”. They urged anyone looking for a bargain to think about looking around their local store on Wednesday mornings.

It has also been widely reported previously that staff who work on Saturdays will be told to shift older items into the clearance section, with some pieces getting major reductions to get them out of the store as more stock replaces it. Deal hunters have typically claimed the worst days for bargains are thought to be on Sunday and Monday.

Another tip that savvy shoppers have shared over the years is to come into a shop armed with the B&M app, which is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app can help you spot deals by scanning products in-store, even if the shelf price hasn’t been updated yet.

The price should be updated in the electronic system when the cashier scans the shopping at the checkout, but always come prepared with proof of the discount. Keep that page open in your app, add it to your virtual basket or take a screenshot.

For those trying to put a cap on their spending in the run-up to Christmas, Imogen Groome from LatestDeals.co.uk shared 11 tips to hold onto more of your money when shopping at B&M. Ideas included making a list, using cash to stay within budget and taking someone else with more discipline to keep you from making impulsive purchases.

In other B&M news, shoppers have been split on a specific selection box that is exclusive to the discount store – and some Australians are not happy. The £5 Aussie Treat Box is back in stores for Christmas, but some have claimed the 5-piece bundle of sweets is “missing the best”.

One person wrote: “I cannot believe they didn’t include Cherry Ripes!” Another said: “They should have added the Cadbury Caramello Koalas!” A third posted: “Can’t be Australia’s favourite chocolate without Tim Tams!” Someone else claimed: “As an Aussie, that has totally missed the mark!” A fifth person said: “Not seeing any Violet Crumble in there!”
