People will want to hang onto something after shopping at the budget supermarket

Aldi shoppers could save themselves a major bill this Christmas, as the supermarket is offering to help write off one of the biggest bills most families face in a week. Bosses have said that dozens of people will get the cost of their food shopping covered in the run-up to Christmas.

From Monday, December 1, shoppers who buy their festive groceries at Aldi can enter the daily prize draw by simply emailing their full name, county of residence and a copy of their receipt to [email protected]. One winner will be randomly selected each day, up until Christmas Eve (December 24), to receive an Aldi voucher covering the value of their shop, up to a maximum of £100.

For example, if a customer purchases goods over the value of £100 and includes this receipt in their entry, the prize is capped at a voucher with a value of £100. Winners must respond within one week of notification to claim their prize.

Failure to respond or provide required information will result in forfeiture of the prize, which may then be awarded to another entrant. For full terms and conditions, go here.

Rachel Geary, communications director at Aldi, said: “Christmas can be an expensive time of year, and we know how important it is for families to feel they’re getting great value from their festive shop. Alongside our commitment to offering the very best quality at the lowest prices, this giveaway is just one of the ways we’re giving something extra back to our customers – helping make the season a little easier and bringing a touch of joy in the lead-up to the big day.”

The festive giveaway forms part of Aldi’s ongoing commitment to helping customers enjoy an affordable Christmas without compromising on quality. The supermarket previously made a pledge to offer shoppers the cheapest Christmas dinner in 2025 as well as confirmed the date of its 8 pence sale.

Giles Hurley, chief executive officer of Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We want to take the guesswork out of affordability by locking in the lowest prices now – whatever cost pressures come our way – on Christmas dinner veggies, turkey and the trimmings to make Christmas as affordable as possible. Being the cheapest for shoppers doesn’t affect the fair prices paid to our suppliers. The discount is our commitment, at our own cost.”

Shoppers can indulge in lots of festive dishes this month with Aldi, as popular favourites return alongside new items. This year’s standout festive picks include Specially Selected Hazel Nut-Cracker Dessert – a gold-dusted Belgian chocolate and hazelnut showpiece filled with caramel – and the Specially Selected Wensleydale Ballycastle with White Chocolate & Caramel.

For the main event, Aldi is also introducing the Specially Selected Ultimate Slow Cooked Wagyu Shin, alongside the returning Specially Selected Ultimate British Free-Range Whole Turkey, slow-reared and dry-hung for exceptional flavour.

Aside from food and drink, Aldi’s middle aisle might be an ideal place to shop for any gifts for children as the supermarket will be including a selection of toys, games and more in the centre of the stores from December 4.
