Shocking moment woke NYC college professor hurls foul-mouthed abuse at students over pro-life stand and accuses them of ‘triggering’ others, before angrily DESTROYING their display
- Shellyne Rodriguez, 46, is an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts
- She went on a tirade against pro-life students at the taxpayer-funded school
- A pro-choice group, however, has defended Rodriguez’s actions
A professor at a New York City art college has drawn the ire of social media after a video showed her hurling obscenities at pro life students over a display at their school that she eventually destroyed.
Shellyne Rodriguez, 46, is an adjunct professor at the School of Visual Arts and Hunter College in the Big Apple.
She’s also an artist and activist who claims her work ‘utilizes text, drawing, painting, collage and sculpture to depict spaces and subjects engaged in strategies of survival against erasure and subjugation,’ according to her bio.
A video posted by a pro-life group from early in May shows her stopping at what claimed to be an educational pro life display at Hunter College in the City University of New York, which is taxpayer funded. A spokesperson for the school has said an investigation is underway.
‘You’re not educating s***,’ Rodriguez said to one of the students. ‘This is f***ing propaganda. What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next? This is bulls***. This is violent. You’re triggering my students.’

One of the male students attempts to speak with Rodriguez before she interrupts him, saying: ‘You can’t even have a f***ing baby.’
Rodriguez then starts to shove their pamphlets off the display table and demanding they ‘get this s*** the f*** out of here.’
She offers one more ‘f*** this s***’ before walking away, as the two students attempt to put their pamphlets back in place.
While conservatives and pro-lifers have been enraged, a group called CUNY for Abortion Rights is defending Rodriguez.
Both School for Visual Arts and Hunter College are part of the city’s college system.
They wrote: ‘We stand with Shellyne Rodriguez and stand against the right wing anti abortion backlash she is experiencing!’
In several panels, they detailed what was happening in the wake of Rodriguez’s tirade.
‘On May 12, Shellyne was summoned to the Hunter Provost’s office, where she was questioned by the provost and the dean, diversity and campus relations.’

It is unclear what happened in the wake of that meeting or if Rodriguez – an adjunct at both schools – still works there.
The school’s pro-abortion group categorized the student display table as an ‘anti-choice disinformation table.’
The Instagram post ends with a clenched fist and the slogan ‘Stand with Shellyne Rodriguez.’
Rodriguez is an unabashed progressive, citing works by Mike Davis, W.E.B. Du Bois, Angela Davis, and Karl Marx in one of her works, according to an interview with ARTNews
In a statement to DailyMail.com, Hunter College assistant VP of communications Vince DiMiceli said the school is looking into it.
‘The college is taking this matter very seriously. The provost has opened an investigation into the professor’s actions.’
