Australian Ninja Warrior: New trailer reveals husband-and-wife rivalry

New trailer for Australian Ninja Warrior reveals a sudden-death showdown between husband-and-wife competitors

Channel Nine has unleashed a sizzling teaser trailer for Australian Ninja Warrior.

Fans can look forward to a few dramatic twists on the new season of the competitive reality show in which contestants try to beat an oversized obstacle course.

There will be clashes between husbands and wives, course veterans going up against ‘young bloods’ and best friends facing off.

The preview, released on Monday, teases a new format in which Ninja ‘legends’ test their skills against teenage contenders.

One young competitor looks fiercely at the camera, as a voice-over asks: ‘Do you you have a message for the veterans?’

‘Watch out, we’re coming for you,’ the contestant replies.

Elsewhere in the trailer, host Leila McKinnon announces a husband-and-wife team will compete in a ‘sudden death’ round. 

The couple hug and kiss before launching themselves at the first obstacle. 

A voice-over promises the sixth season will be Ninja ‘supper-charged’.

Leila, 49, will co-host the 2022 season with tennis champion Jim Courier, 51.

They’ll be joined by radio hosts Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw, of the Will & Woody drive show on KIIS FM, who will act as sideline commentators. 

Leila recently said she was a ‘huge fan’ of the show and was excited to get started.

‘It will be a privilege now to be front and centre with these athletes to see what they can achieve when put to the test,’ she said. 

‘This year the Ninjas will go further, faster and higher on a supercharged new obstacle course.’
