Lewis Capaldi scores his FIFTH number one single with his new hit Wish You The Best
Lewis Capaldi has scored his fifth ever number one single with his new hit Wish You The Best, just weeks ahead of the release of his second album.
The Scottish singer, 26, marked the occasion is his usual comedic style by posing shirtless with five WWE belts, lifting one in the air in victory.
He uniquely posed with the belts because he was unable to get his hands on an Official Number 1 Single Award as he is currently touring stateside.
Lewis released his piano ballad Wish You The Best on April 14 and within a week, it has soared straight to the top of the charts.
Elsewhere in the charts, Metallica claimed their first number one album in a staggering 15 years with their new release 72 Seasons.

His new single is part of his hotly-anticipated second album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, following his 2019 debut Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.
His second album is slated for release on May 19 and Lewis has already shared a string of its hit singles including How I’m Feeling Now, Pointless and Forget Me.
Lewis is travelling around the US over the next few weeks to perform at a string of sold out shows in the likes of Denver, Seattle, Portland and Dallas.
He is then returning to Europe before jetting to Australia for a whole host of shows in July, before performing at Leeds and Reading Festival in August.
Since Wish You The Best’s release last week, Lewis has been playfully promoting his new single in his usually amusing way.
The star recently took to Instagram to share eye-raising snaps of himself stripping off as he doused himself in water and posed in a flirtatious manner.
Lewis looked in his element as he larked around in front of giant silver balloons that spelled out his name, in addition to white and blue balloons to represent his nationality.
The crooner, dressed in black trousers and white and green trainers, sported a cheeky smirk on his face as he pulled off his best modelling poses.
Captioning his post, Lewis penned a somewhat X-rated message in a bid to emphasise that he hoped the new song would leave fans in tears.

He wrote: ‘I want to make you soaking wet. Your eyes that is. Listen to wish you the best and feel yourself moisten.’
His latest single Wish You The Best dropped last week and is another memorable heartbreak anthem.
The chorus includes the lyrics: ‘Oh my love, I want to say I miss the green in your eyes. And when I said we could be friends, guess I lied.
‘I want to say that I wish you’d never left. But instead I only wish you the best.
‘I wanna say without out you everything’s wrong, that you were everything I need all along.’
Speaking to DJ Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 last Friday, he said of the song: ‘It’s about someone moving on and that feeling where you know it’s the best thing for that person but you want to say to them and all you say is ‘good luck I’m really happy for you.”
Poking fun at his own tendency to write songs about sad situations, he added: ‘But actually you are dying inside and want to tell them all the things you miss about them and why they should stay with you, so just a really happy song for the summer.’
On the radio show, Lewis also opened up about his new relationship with actress Ellie MacDowall, saying: ‘I have a girlfriend and that’s going really well, I am happy happy, she’s a lovely lady I feel good about everything.’
The hitmaker was first spotted with Ellie in November, as the pair were pictured on a night out and then a romantic dinner in the early hours of the morning.
They were then reportedly seen at the BRITs afterparty in February, where they struggled to keep their hands off each other.
This year, Ellie will have a starring role in new biopic Archie focusing on the actor Cary Grant.
The four-part drama series will cover his humble beginnings in the UK to his phenomenal rise to success in America.
Ellie will be playing the part of his daughter, Jennifer Grant in the series, which will air on ITV’s new streaming service, ITVX.
Lewis previously dated Love Island winner Paige Turley on-and-off from 2014 to 2016 after they met at college in Motherwell.
The Someone You Love hitmaker also opened up about his struggles with Tourette’s syndrome in a wide-ranging chat with radio host Scott.
He gave an insight into how he deals with Tourette’s – a neurological condition characterised by a combination of involuntary noises and movements called tics.
He said: ‘There’s no real treatment for Tourette’s, I’m in a position when I can cancel a full day of work… I feel really bad for other people, that must be so much worse.

Lewis, who recently released his Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now, also shared his struggles with anxiety and said he had ‘multiple’ panic attacks last weekend.
‘I had multiple panic attacks on Saturday evening, I went out for a few beers, I feel anxious after drinking,’ he said.
‘My mum had to calm me down and lie in my bed with me. For the whole week after I felt off.’
