Haaland breaks silence on Man City move in Dortmund message

E

rling Haaland said he will “never forget” his time at Borussia Dortmund after the culmination of the Bundesliga season.

The Norway international, who will be moving to Manchester City this summer, scored a penalty on his final appearance for the club from the penalty spot in a 2-1 home win over Hertha Berlin.

The successful spot-kick meant Haaland finished his Dortmund career with 86 goals in 89 appearances across all competitions in just two-and-half-years with the club.

One of Europe’s leading marksmen, City formally announced the signing in the wake of their Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid, though stressed the deal was subject to agreeing personal terms.

Taking to Twitter after Dortmund’s win, however, Haaland bid farewell to their fans.

“It has been nothing but an honour to wear this shirt,” he wrote.

“At @BVB, I’ve spent memorable moments, met special people, not to mention a fanbase that has been always our extra man on the pitch. The Yellow Wall is truly incredible. I’ll never forget any of this! Thank you all!”
