‘His time is up!’ Paul and Fury collide at fiery weigh-in ahead of fight
The two fighters then squared off in a fiery exchange, which was ended with a push from Fury, who told the media of Paul: “Tomorrow night his time is up, Jake Paul will no longer be boxing. I’m going to put Jake Paul away inside four rounds.”
Fury, half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, was first on the scales, weighing in at 184.5 pounds, before Paul tipped the scales at 183.6, both safely inside the 185lbs cruiserweight limit.
Paul, who is also aiming to end the fight inside four rounds, said: “He’s acting on stage, getting all hyped up, trying to act like his brother. This professional boxer is going down. It’s easy, it’s simple. I’m ready – cool, calm, collected.”
It’s a fight long in the making after two earlier bouts were cancelled. Paul, a YouTuber, has a 6-0 record after making easy work of celebrities and former MMA stars, but in Fury faces his toughest challenge yet.
Fury is a professional boxer with an 8-0 record, though his level of opponents are yet to properly push him. Paul expects to be his first real test.
“Like the posters say, the talk is over, we’ve done all the ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’, all the hoopla. It’s time to figure out the truth,” Paul said.
