Louis Saha compares Fernandes to Roy Keane in impassioned defence of Man Utd captain
The Portugal international has been criticised for his performance during the 7-0 loss at Anfield, with Gary Neville in particular venting his frustration.
The former United skipper turned Sky Sports pundit said he has “had enough” of the 28-year-old and berated Fernandes for “whinging” at his teammates.
Chris Sutton, meanwhile, went a step further and called for the club strip the former Sporting midfielder of the armband altogether.
Still, Saha believes former United skipper Roy Keane was guilty of the same kind of behaviour and issued a stirring defence of the Portuguese.
“I will defend Bruno, everyone is entitled to make mistakes and he will learn from them and reflect, maybe he’ll see what fans and pundits have said about his behaviour and he will think about it… I think he wants to win and that’s what I see in him,” Saha told Compare.Bet.
“If the players around him are unhappy with his body language and are worried about being criticised by their captain, change jobs. That’s it. You have to accept these things. Roy Keane used to do it too, he always looked for a reaction, whether it was the right one or not.”
