Transfer news LIVE! Chelsea in Palmer talks; Fati wants Spurs; Arsenal latest

The deadline for the summer transfer window is looming large for clubs who are determined to get a final deal or two over the line. Chief among which are Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham with Arsenal also keeping an eye on any late developments.

Barcelona whizkid Ansu Fati has been one such player, linked with the Gunners lately and now offered to Chelsea and Spurs as the Catalans consider cashing in. Fati has reportedly decided he wants the move. Arsenal have been fielding interest from their rivals over at Stamford Bridge for Emile Smith Rowe.

Chelsea want to continue their clearout before Friday night’s deadline and have surprise interest in Marc Cucurella from Manchester United, amid their injury issues at left-back. Romelu Lukaku is set to leave and Cole Palmer, plus former loanee Joao Felix, are on the Blues’ radar. The biggest remaining deal however could come in Tottenham’s £50m move for Brennan Johnson. Ansu Fati wants to leave Barcelona.

Spanish outlet Jijantes say the youngster is ready to fulfil his club’s wishes as they look to cash in on him.

Tottenham, Liverpool or Chelsea are his preference.

However, his father, Bori Fati, reportedly wants to see him join Sevilla.


Cole Palmer on Chelsea radar

Chelsea want to sign Cole Palmer.

The Man City youngster was linked with West Ham earlier in the window and has once again been cast to the sidelines by Pep Guardiola, following the signing of Jeremy Doku.

Both the Telegraph and Fabrizio Romano say Chelsea are desperate to do a deal as they look to sign a young attacker with top-level experience.

Tottenham hope for late sales to fund striker push

Spurs are looking for a frantic finish to the transfer window with as many as seven players up for grabs, writes Standard Sport’s Dan Kilpatrick.
