Bus driver reveals practical but VERY savage advice on how not to miss your ride – and commuters are all saying the same thing
Public transport is notoriously irritating, either you wait a long time for it to turn up or you’ve just missed it.
One London bus driver however, has shared some sage advice for commuters when trying to catch the bus.
Posting a hilariously savage top tip on TikTok, the driver known as @model_icandi, told Londoners exactly what they needed to do to make the bus wait for them.
She explained that if the driver is waiting for you and you start running, then you must not stop or else they will close the doors and drive off because it looks like you’re ‘changed your mind’.
A London bus driver has taken to TikTok to share a top tip for commuters when they are trying to catch a bus
‘Top tip of the day, if you are down the road and you want a bus, especially a London bus, and that bus driver is waiting for you, don’t stop running.
‘Keep running for your bus.’
She ended by warning that if you hesitate: ‘They will close the doors and go.’
While this may seen simple if harsh it does sound like reasonable advice because that bus driver has decided to wait for you.
One commenter agreed, saying that if you stop, you’re sending the message that you don’t need the bus anymore.
‘It’s giving, “I’m not interested”. It’s giving “I changed my mind”,’ they wrote.
Model_icandi replied: ‘Definitelyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It’s giving, “Oh I thought it was the 159 but it’s the 59.’
If slightly savage the driver told people to keep on running if they notice that a bus driver has decided to wait for them, otherwise they will close the doors and drive off
The video has already racked up over 1,200 views and users have been quick to share their opinions and experiences.
One follower from Milton Keynes said: ‘in Milton Keynes even if you’re running like Mo Farrah they look at you through the mirror as they drive off. fs even cut up traffic to do it as well’
Others however agreed and one person posted: ‘100% keep running especially if you going skl and forgot your oyster’
While another exclaimed: ‘I must’ve legged it for my bus the other day for the driver to just isolate the bus as soon as I jump on.’
And a fourth added: ‘Ah lie wicked drivers’
The video has racked up over 1,200 views and users have commented to share their thoughts, with some remaining unconvinced that drivers will actually wait for them
Buses if you can catch them are a great way to travel and this advice comes after a woman pledged to travel from the south of England to Scotland by buses last month.
Emily Turner, a writer and podcast host from London, has documented her travels from her home city of London to Edinburgh on Twitter, where thousands of people have followed her journey.
She revealed her mission to travel between the two cities would take three days, involve 16 buses – all of which had to be part of the £2 local government bus programme.
Taking to Twitter to discuss the journey, Emily revealed that she was planning to spend no more than £35 in total on buses, and added that she had pre-booked a train to travel home from Edinburgh on Sunday night. She also noted that she loves buses, and has wanted to undertake such travels ‘for years’.
Before even stepping foot on her first bus, the writer and host of the Roundel Round We Go podcast, about the London Underground, starting gaining followers who were keen to follow her almost 400-mile trek.
