But not everyone was convinced.

‘I would prefer one block of real Caramilk to any dupe, no matter the price,’ one woman said.

Before adding: ‘And when I see it on a half-price special I grab ten.’

Others were disappointed that they’d missed out, with the block ‘sold out’ at some stores.

‘So bummed, none at my local Aldi so I checked the one near my partner’s house but none there either,’ one woman said.

While others fumed.

‘Aldi is always out of everything – you have to be in store the second it hits the shelf if it is any good,’ ranted one disappointed shopper.

The Caramilk copy is part of Aldi’s Rainforest Alliance range. Chocolates featuring the small green frog come from sustainable cocoa, with a share of the profits going to educate people in the industry about sustainable practices.
