Meghan Markle’s estranged best friend Jessica Mulroney has gone silent on social media as the Duchess’ new Netflix documentary dropped – despite a very intimate phone call between the two women featuring in the series.
Prolific social media user Jessica – who boasts 412,000 followers on Instagram – has not posted anything on her feed in the past three days.
The Toronto-based stylist has also not appeared on her Stories since the first episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s TV special dropped yesterday morning.
In the second episode of the show, Meghan handed over footage from the night her and Prince Harry got engaged in 2017 to Netflix producers.
Meghan ex-friend Jessica Mulroney was the first person she called while Prince Harry proposed – but she was snubbed from the first episodes of the docuseries
Moments before Prince Harry popped the question in the Walled Garden of Kensington Palace, the former Suits star appears to have video-called Jessica Mulroney, who is based in Toronto.
As she approached the setting, Meghan said: ‘Oh my God Jess, it’s happening. He told me not peek.’
It is thought that ‘Jess’ refers to celebrity stylist Jessica, who was one of Meghan’s closest pals prior to the potential rift between the pair following Jessica’s comments about ‘white privilege’.
The footage then jumps to a never-before-seen clip of the romantic proposal of Prince Harry down on one knee and surrounded by 15 electric candles.

The Netflix special is filled with personal moments – including their engagement, where the former TV star phoned Jessica, as Harry proposed and told her ‘it’s happening’

While Prince Harry kneels on a blanket, Meghan’s dog Gus is seen sitting next to him and a large bouquet of white roses.
The Duchess revealed she had an inkling that the proposal would happen that evening when her husband went to chill a bottle of champagne as she roasted a chicken in the kitchen of their former Nottingham Cottage home.
Meghan and Jessica were inseparable from the moment they met on the set of TV show Suits, however, reports from recent years have speculated their friendship may be on the rocks.
Rumours of a fall-out between the two women have continued to swirl as Jessica has not yet appeared in the Netflix docu-series – despite reportedly playing an ‘influential’ role in Megxit.

From helping her choose her dress to coordinating plans, Jessica was a key player at Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding, and both her sons and daughter were even involved in the celebration.
The day of the royal wedding Jessica shared snaps on Instagram and captioned the post: ‘Proud friend. Proud mom.’
Later, a palace insider even suggested to the Mail on Sunday that Meghan frequently confided in the stylist as her and Harry began to solidify their plans to step down as royals.
The source said: ‘Jessica was more influential on “Megxit” than anyone really realized.’
Following the announcement Harry and Meghan were leaving the Royal Family, Jessica said: ‘A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink.’

Since Jessica didn’t get a spot in the first three episodes of the explosive docuseries, speculations that their friendship may have ended for good have grown
It appeared as though they became distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding ‘white privilege’ while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matters movement.
Although Jessica denied being a racist, Sasha, claimed the stylist left her ‘paralyzed with fear’.
Following the blogger’s claims, Jessica issued three public apologies, however she still faced consequences and was dropped by numerous television networks.
DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that ABC severed ties with her, confirming that Jessica would not be returning to her occasional role as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America.
Canadian TV network CTV also cut off ties with the stylist, revealing that it would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality TV show I Do Redo from its platform.
Rocky waters for Jessica continued as she was then accused of using Meghan as her ‘superpower,’ however, she denied there was any truth to this and refused to talk about the Duchess during interviews.
As the backlash against Jessica built up, Meghan remained quite and distant on the matter.
However, following the former Suit star’s 40 birthday, a source told DailyMail.com that the pair were still friends, despite seeing each other less frequently.
‘Meghan is in regular touch with Jessica,’ the source said. ‘It’s just difficult now they’re in California and Jessica’s in Toronto.’
A different source then claimed their friendship is no longer ‘what it once was,’ adding that this was due to the pair having ‘just grown apart’ and not because of the fallout between Jessica and Sasha.
The insider added: ‘Of course, Meghan has been worried about Jess. She’ll always have love for her.’
However, Jessica later told Page Six that she and Meghan are ‘constantly’ in touch via FaceTime.
