Serious crimes were reported from Kilburn High Road to Walthamstow
North, East, South and West – each corner of London has been rocked by serious crimes over the last seven days. These include a near-fatal shooting in Enfield and a daylight stabbing in Lambeth. Despite multiple attacks involving knives and guns, no one has been killed.
However, a man has been charged with murder following a tragic case in West London. National statistics show that while overall murders and gun incidents have fallen, offences involving knives or sharp articles have seen slight increases – about two per cent year‑on‑year up to December 2024.

Man stabbed in Streatham
A man in his 20s was stabbed in Streatham on Monday, October 6, leaving blood ‘all over’ the pavement. He was attacked outside Starbucks on Streatham Hill at around 1pm and taken to hospital.
His injuries are neither life-changing or life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police has since confirmed. An investigation to find the knifeman continues. Read the full story.
Man stabbed in West Drayton
A man in his 20s was stabbed after a ‘fight’ in West Drayton on Monday evening (October 6). He and a 15-year-old boy with a head injury were found on Station Road just after 6pm, prompting a large emergency response.
Both were taken to hospital in a stable condition, the Metropolitan Police has since confirmed. The force believes an altercation broke out on the adjacent Brandiville Road before spiralling past the junction. Read the full story.
Boy, 15, stabbed on Kilburn High Road
A 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed on Kilburn High Road on Tuesday afternoon (October 7). He was later arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
The teenager was found within the Brondesbury Villas at around 5.15pm and is now recovering from his injuries. The incident marks the seventh stabbing on or around Kilburn High Road since June. Read the full story.
Ealing man, 43, charged with murder of woman
A man has been charged with the 2024 murder of a woman in Ealing. Alvin Ghati, 43, of Uxbridge Road, is accused of strangling 35-year-old Vivienne Baraka to death at a house in Riverside Close on March 26.
Police and paramedics descended on the residential street just before 3.15pm after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman inside. Despite best effort, Ms Baraka was declared dead at the scene.
Ghati was arrested soon after but later released under investigation. He was re-arrested on Wednesday, October 8 and charged as above. Read the full story.
Man, 25, stabbed near Waterloo station
A 25-year-old man has suffered life-changing head injuries after he was stabbed near Waterloo station. He was attacked in Waterloo Millennium Green at around 7.45pm on Wednesday evening (October 8), police say.
No one has been arrested in connection and an investigation is now underway. The park was cordoned off for much of the following day, with the entrance on Baylis Road blocked by a cordon. Read the full story.
Boy, 17, shot in Arnos Grove
Detectives investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Enfield are appealing for witnesses. The teenager was found seriously injured on High Road, in Arnos Grove, just after 5pm on Thursday, October 9.
He continues to fight for his life in hospital, the Metropolitan Police said. The force is yet to arrest anyone in connection and is urging anyone with information to get in touch. Read the full story.
Man shot during stand-off with police in Walthamstow
A man shot by police in Walthamstow during a four-hour stand-off has been left with life-changing injuries. Family members called 999 at 10am on Friday (October 10) reporting their relative on Stow Crescent had a gun and was threatening to hurt himself.
Armed officers and negotiators were stationed outside the house into the afternoon as the man inside threatened to seriously harm anyone who came in then shoot himself. At around 2pm, after a bang was heard, officers entered the property and discharged their weapons, the Metropolitan Police said. Read the full story.
