People baffled as they try to answer primary school questions under time pressure – and get them wrong

If you need to engage your mind this seven-question quiz is the perfect way to get your brain active – but a number of people admitted that they found it ‘hard’ and got a number of the answers wrong

It’s the middle of the working week so your brain might be feeling a little foggy – it might be time to engage your brain and there is no better way to get your mind ticking than a brainteaser.

We all know the importance of exercising our bodies, but working out our minds is just as important. Every day The Mirror shares puzzles, brain teasers, and optical illusions to get your brain ticking. Brain teasers can boost your cognitive function, and improve your perception skills.

You may already have a pretty good idea of how your mind works under pressure, but a fun quiz could well offer confirmation. Solving this challenge will reveal if you can compete at primary school level – while it might seem easy a number of people have been left baffled.

Mahan Lankarani who calls himself the ‘quizmaster’ of TikTok has raked in over 91.4million views for his brain teaser puzzles and general knowledge questions. In one of his recent video challenges, he asked viewers to try and solve seven questions – and you have three seconds for each question to answer.

  3. Which word is the verb? ‘The beautiful flowers bloom in spring’
  4. What is a group of stars that form a pattern or imaginary shape called?
  5. If you buy three sweets that cost £1.40 each, how much did you spend in total?
  6. What is the perimeter of a square (in cm) if one of its sides is 5cm?
  7. Choose the correct phrase to complement this sentence: ‘My parents saved up university fees for…’ – ‘My sister and me’ or ‘my sister and I’.

A number of participants admitted that they thought question seven was ‘my sister and I’. Another, commenting on question four, said: “As if someone of primary school age is going to know what constellation is.” Another described the questions as “blooming hard” and some said they answered ‘rung’ for question one. A lot of people said they got two or three answers right, while some said they got full marks on the quiz.
