Andrew Lownie, who recently published an explosive book about Prince Andrew, has announced he is working on his next royal biography, revealing which major royal will be the subject
After the release of his bombshell biography about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, royal author and historian Andrew Lownie has revealed which major royal will be the target of his next book.
Lownie’s biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, was released just last week, with the author announcing he is already working on his next tell-all book about the royal family.
In an interview about his controversial biographies, Lownie said he has already started working on a “warts and all” book on the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, as he has set aside four years to focus fully on the project. It comes as Prince Harry placed secret letter at royal event in major attempt to heal bitter feud.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday , Lownie revealed: “I’ve put in all the FOIs [Freedom of Information requests] for a Prince Philip book already… I’m working very hard to get what I can.”
One of Lownie’s early finds was Prince Philip’s early school report, which was intended to be inaccessible to the public for a century. “Why they kept it classified for 100 years, I don’t know,” Mr Lownie said.
“But I’ve got it. It shows his recommendations for the Royal Navy, and it’s now at last declassified and available. Times are changing, they do need to start declassifying more and more records for the royals.
By the time the book is published, it will be close to a decade since Philip’s death, and Lownie believes public attitudes about the late Duke and the monarchy as a whole may have shifted.
“People might be ready to hear some of the stories about his private life,” he says. “People expect more transparency from the monarchy now.”
While discussing his most recent book Entitled, Lownie also revealed that he will be publishing an updated version of the biography, which should be available summer 2026, as more sources have come forward with allegations against Andrew since the book’s release.
According to Lownie, several sources who previously refused to speak about Andrew have now been empowered to share their stories and allegations against the disgraced Duke, causing Lownie’s publisher to invite him to publish an updated version.
Lownie said the new book would be an “entirely new version” of Entitled, adding: “The amazing and astonishing thing that’s happened since Entitled came out is that people have come forward in droves with more stories to tell about Prince Andrew. Those who felt they couldn’t speak to me before have now changed their mind or have realised they’ve been covering things up for him out of misplaced loyalty.
“A lot of respectable people who declined to be involved in the book are now coming forward, keen to unload the secrets they’ve been keeping for all these years.
“So my Andrew book is going to have to be substantially rewritten from start to finish. It will be an entirely new book, not just a few new chapters, and I’ll get it done in time for the paperback release next summer. I think my book really broke the inertia surrounding Prince Andrew.”
