The second season of Meghan Markle’s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan has dropped on Netflix with the Mirror’s Jennifer Newton watching all eight episodes of the new series

The first season may have been panned by the critics, but With Love, Meghan is back for a second, and it is exactly what we’ve come to expect.

The pristine kitchen in the rented farmhouse has returned, as has the incredible garden full of fruit and vegetables, and the gorgeous Californian scenery.

Each episode of this second run follows the exact same format as the first. Meghan is inviting a friend around so she must make them a welcome drink, snack, and gifts before they cook up an elaborate lunch and have a go at some sort of crafting project.

And its not just the format that’s the same – some of the faces are too, with Meghan’s make-up artist pal Daniel Martin returning to the series for another appearance.

However, the biggest change between season one and season two is who doesn’t make the cut and appear in the show – and for me, it was a big loss.

Despite speaking lovingly and candidly about her husband, Prince Harry (or H as Meghan calls him), there is no cameo appearance from the Duke of Sussex this time around.

In the first series, he memorably turns up at a beautiful garden brunch where he awkwardly waves and tells Meghan she did a great job at preparing all of the food.

But this time, all viewers are treated to a couple of glimpses of photos with Harry in them, including one from their famous third date to Botswana.

There are also details about who said ‘I love you’ first, an insight into Harry’s food likes and dislikes and a rather sweet – if a little soppy – moment where Meghan reveals she had baseball caps made for Harry and his friends for his 40th birthday bash with ‘PH 40’ on them.

But despite all of this detail, there is no appearance from the man himself, which is a shame as he is almost definitely the most famous person she could have had on the show – and surely a 30-second cameo would have been easy to arrange.

Even in the episode with model and actress Chrissy Teigen, her famous husband, Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter John Legend steps in for a quick blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.

The division of Harry and Meghan’s careers has been ongoing for a long while now with sources close to the Sussexes previously saying Meghan’s work priorities are her As Ever business, while Harry concentrates on his charity work and philanthropy.

And Harry’s non-appearance in the latest season of the show is the biggest sign yet that this will not change in the future.
