Surrey Police have stepped in to issue a dispersal order for the area around Cobham Services on the M25 after receving information regarding a planned car meet this coming weekend.

A dispersal order has been issued for 3pm on Saturday (August 30) until 7am on Sunday (August 31), both at Cobham Services and Brooklands Industrial Park.

The exact area of the dispersal order can be seen on the maps below.

Inspector Chris Thoday, Borough Commander for Elmbridge, said: “This dispersal order is not about spoiling the fun of car enthusiasts, but ensuring we minimise the impact of anti-social driving on residents following previous gatherings.

“A dispersal order gives officers the power to order a group of two or more people to leave the area if they are committing, or are likely to commit, a criminal offence, and there will be additional patrols in the area while the dispersal order is active.

“Officers will use both the dispersal order powers and powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act to seize vehicles acting anti-socially, and we will deal with any offences relating to anti-social behaviour robustly.”

Anyone who has witnessed or experienced anti-social or criminal behaviour is encouraged to contact police straight away.

In an emergency, always call 999.
