Surrey high street was cordoned off after Second World War hand grenades were discovered

A cordon has been lifted on a Surrey High-street after a number of grenades were dealt with.

Officers from Surrey Police were called to Horsell High Street at around 12:40pm on Tuesday afternoon (August 26). The incident surrounded a residential address where devices suspected to be unexploded military ordinances were found.

A cordon was put in place in the area around the High Street while officers dealt with the devices. They were confirmed as two Second World War grenades.

Just before 4pm a spokesperson for Surrey Police announced that the cordon had been lifted.
