Woman wakes up at 7.30am at Turkey hotel and is shocked at what she finds
There’s nothing quite like going on holiday, but sometimes people can find all sorts of unexpected things at their hotel. Danielle Mason, 42, is one of them as she woke up in Turkey at 7.30am one morning during her holiday to make a truly baffling discovery.
The former model turned cleaning expert shared that she couldn’t believe her eyes when she woke up to find something totally extraordinary. She posted a clip on TikTok revealing just what she found in the early hours, and she expressed her disbelief as she’d never seen anything like it before whilst on a summer vacation.
According to Danielle, a sunbed “drama” unfolded, and the situation left her totally stunned. As you’d expect, it’s not the first story about sunbed wars to have emerged over the summer months.
In the clip, Danielle said: “So, it’s 7.30am in Turkey. It’s already 40 degrees, and the sunbeds are already taken.” She then turns the camera around to the pool area where you can clearly see the sunbeds.
Most of them are not being used, but towels and other belongings have been plastered over them. It seems many people were keen to get their spot for the day ahead.
Danielle continued: “There’s just not a hope in hell that I’m getting up at 5am to fight for a sunbed. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s supposed to be a holiday.”
The video has been viewed dozens of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. Danielle’s followers posted all sorts of thoughts.
One shared a personal story, writing: “We were in Turkey last year, and our resort went around at 10am, and any towels not being used were collected and a €5 charge was implemented to get them back. It was wonderful to watch.”
To this, Danielle replied: “Love that.” A second added: “Wow – I’m so with you. It’s nuts.”
A third replied: “Wow, the hotel in Mallorca was not as bad as this. I wonder what time people come down and eventually sit on their beds?
“There’s four of us in our family, but knowing there is not enough beds, we only take two beds as the kids don’t need them.”
Danielle responded by saying: “5am and they go to sit with the towels. Not much of a holiday – actually terrible!”
Meanwhile, a fourth person also commented: “I hate this. I would move the towel off. Some people put their towels there and are not seen all day.”
When it comes to sunbed etiquette, some people use towels to reserve a sunbed in a hotel by leaving their towel on one to claim it; however, this can be against some hotel policies. You should always check if there are any rules in place before you do so while abroad.
Not to mention, the act can also be considered rude if done for extended periods when the bed isn’t actually in use. It can lead to causing offence to other guests.
