Man, 62, fights for his life after being stabbed on quiet residential street in East London

A man is fighting for his life in hospital today (Monday, September 8) after being stabbed in Manor Park in East London.

The man was attacked in the dead of night, with police first called to Sheringham Avenue just before 4am. Paramedics managed to get the victim to hospital where doctors found his condition to be critical.

The Met Police, meanwhile, made a string of arrests, slapping the cuffs on six men at a house nearby. Their ages range from 22 to 57.

A Met spokesperson said: “At 03:57hrs on Monday, 8 September, police were called to Sheringham Avenue, Manor Park, to reports that a man had been stabbed.

“The 62-year-old man was treated by police and the London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

“Six men between the ages of 22 and 57 were arrested at a nearby address in connection to this incident and remain in custody.”
