Chocolate lovers have shared their excitement after a new flavour of the popular KitKat Chunky bar was spotted in the UK – however it might be difficult to find
People are going crazy after a new flavour of KitKat Chunky has been spotted in the UK. However, you might find it harder to get your hands on than expected.
KitKat has been a beloved chocolate bar in the UK for decades. The treat was first created by Rowntree’s of York, England in 1935, under the name Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp. It was later renamed to Kit Kat Chocolate Crisp in 1937. The Rowntree brand was later acquired by Swiss company Nestlé, who has been in charge of the distribution ever since, except in the USA where Hershey produces KitKat bars.
The first flavour variation of the chocolate bar came during the Second World War in 1942, where food shortages prompted a change in the recipe to make it with dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate. Since then, there has been countless of other flavour variations of the British chocolate bar.
One of the latest flavours has recently been spotted in the UK, as the popular bar has joined forces with an Aero in order to make the ultimate chocolate bar. Instagram account NewFoodsUK took to social media to share the news.
“Brand new Aero KitKat Chunky! Yes, it is as good as it sounds! This bar is sensational!” they wrote in the caption of the post.
In the photo, they revealed the latest chocolate bar they’d find in the UK – an Aero KitKat Chunky, which mixed the iconic bubbly texture of the Aero chocolate with the thin wafers of a KitKat. The chocolate bar was also seen being divided into three smaller chunks, instead of the thin ‘fingers’ of a normal KitKat bar.
The bar is part of the Australian line of KitKats, with some unique flavours now making its way over to the UK. However, there was one issue with it.
Since the bar is so new to the UK, shops aren’t advertising them as being sold yet. Because of this, if you want to make sure you get your hands on it, you will have to order it from a specialty sweets import store.
In the post, the people behind the New Foods UK page said that they’d ordered their bar from UK-based website WorldSnacks.
People soon took to the comment section of the Instagram post, with many sharing their opinions of the KitKat Aero bar.
“It’s absolutely delicious too, comes in mint as well,” one person shared. Another person said: “We loved this one.”
While a third added: “My head is going to explode!!”
