Thrift shopping can be a treasure trove of bargains if you’ve got the patience to hunt. One woman was over the moon, claiming that the “thrifting goddesses” were “shining” on her during her trip to Tuscany, as she managed to snag two stunning items for a fraction of their usual price.

To her delight, it’s even less than what they would cost back in the UK. Holly, who shares her finds on TikTok under the handle @hollyloveslilac, was astounded that she’d returned from her Italian holiday with two designer bags, starting her video with a hand over her mouth in disbelief.

The mum-of-two expressed her love for “finding a great bargain” – and she certainly struck gold on her Italian adventure.

Holly referred to Italy as the “home of leather handbags,” so she knew she had to get her hands on one while on holiday there.

First off, Holly opted for a Louis Vuitton bag, having desired an authentic one for quite some time. She’d been on the verge of buying a new one before, but the timing had never felt right.

Holly revealed that she’d been “really manifesting finding one” on her “charity shop journey”.

She continued: “And it wasn’t quite a charity shop, but it was a pre-loved, pre-owned excursion that I went on in Tuscany that I sourced from a beautiful, gorgeous Italian couple who buy and sell pre-loved designer goods.”

Holly proudly displayed her pre-loved bag, a Louis Vuitton Abba, which typically sells for over £1,000 second-hand.

Whilst it is the “perfect size” bag, it was “a little bit battered in the corners” and appeared well-used.

This isn’t too much of a problem, though, as she can have the exterior restored. What’s more, the inside of the bag is “in great condition.”

Holly remembered: “She was selling it for €250 (£216), which is already a great price. I haven’t seen them on Vinted or anywhere [as cheap], even ones way more battered than this.”

As Holly was purchasing several items, she managed to negotiate the price of the items further. She paid €150 (£130), which is a real steal.

However, there was a bag she adored even more, describing it as her “favourite”. Holly was “instantly in love” with a “canvas Gucci bag” that she’d never encountered before.

The fashion enthusiast wasn’t entirely certain about which decade the bag was from – but estimated 90s or noughties as it has the “OG vintage label”.

She raved: “It’s a cream canvas, it’s in fantastic condition, dark brown leather.” To make the deal even sweeter, she gushed that the “inside is pristine” and it “holds so much”.

Holly revealed: “On the second-hand market here in the UK, it’s selling for over £900.” However, she paid just €200 (£173).

The TikToker said these bags would be in her “collection forever” as they’re so classic – and she couldn’t believe she’d secured both for “under £400”.

People were equally as amazed by the discoveries. In the comments, people said the bags were “beautiful,” expressing their astonishment at the bargain price she’d paid for the pair.
