The annual event, set on the grounds of the iconic Hampshire landmark, will be free to attend and runs from November 21 to December 22. This festive market offers an array of shops and attractions for both locals and tourists to enjoy.

Foodies will be spoilt for choice with a plethora of food and drink stalls offering cheeses, Spanish gourmet food, festive sweet treats, mead, and much more.

Visitors can also step inside the vast cathedral to marvel at its stunning interiors. Built between 1079 and 1420, the cathedral is one of the largest of its kind in northern Europe.

In the run-up to Christmas, Advent and Christmas services will be held, featuring an internationally-acclaimed choir, making it an ideal destination for those seeking some festive cheer, reports the Express.

Regularly topping lists of the country’s best markets, in 2020, the Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market was voted the best in the UK and one of the best in Europe in a public vote organised by European Best Destinations, as reported by Group Travel World.

CN Traveller ranked the market among the top 16 worldwide last year, praising the “unique” event that boasts over 100 wooden chalets. The Cathedral claims its market draws an impressive 110,000 visitors annually, as families descend upon the city centre.
