The Princess of Wales was hosting a group of scouts with Melania Trump when she made the comment
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, disclosed one of her son’s most recent interests during her Windsor visit alongside US First Lady Melania Trump. Most youngsters typically develop fun little hobbies, usually around collecting items such as dolls, comic books, teddy bears and games.
However, Kate revealed that Prince Louis, 7, has developed a fascination for gathering conkers. Children might relish gathering and playing with conkers as they’re excellent for a traditional skill game, easy to collect, and useful for arts and crafts, plus nature education, such as counting and making animal figures.
Their glossy, appealing appearance also captures youngsters’ interest. The excitement of searching for them in autumn makes gathering them a beloved activity for numerous children, too, reports the Mirror.
Kate’s comments emerged as she welcomed a group of Squirrel Scouts alongside Melania and assisted the children in completing outdoor activities to achieve Go Wild badges. The two prominent figures knelt down to engage with the four and five-year-olds seated at tables nearby.
Mrs Trump was reportedly seen taking one girl onto her lap, while the princess subsequently strolled hand-in-hand with another child. According to PA, Kate, who serves as joint president of the Scouts, spoke with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields regarding her seven-year-old son Louis within the grounds of Frogmore House, a former Royal residence situated in Windsor Home Park, near Windsor Castle.
She said: “We keep finding conkers in cupboards, in his bed – conkers everywhere!” As Mr Fields smiled, she mentioned that her son even places the conkers inside his toy trucks and uses them for play.
The occasion followed an extravagant state dinner at Windsor Castle on Wednesday night for US President Donald Trump, who was making his second state visit to Britain. The youngsters, hailing from Lewisham in south London, were offered oat and cranberry biscuits from the Royal kitchens prepared with honey from Kate’s beehives at her Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall.
Mrs Trump also arrived with presents: a pot of White House honey for each of the youngsters from Lewisham, south London. Kate, joint president of the Scouts, welcomed the children in the grounds of Frogmore House, a former Royal home in Windsor Home Park, near the castle.
She was accompanied by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, who remarked ahead of the occasion: “Having someone with the profile of the Princess of Wales as joint president, you can imagine it’s incredible for the young people to see her. I think it’s a great thing to have her shine a light on the movement.”
When she spoke to children while they were creating a bug hotel, she asked: “I like bees, do you think bees will come into your hotel?” She also asked: “Where can they make their honey?”, to which a boy responded “down here”, indicating the bottom of the cardboard hotel.
Mrs Trump also arrived with presents, a jar of White House honey for each child who enjoyed packed lunches arranged by Kate that included finger sandwiches, fruit and raw vegetable sticks.
