Singer Joss Stone, who recently caught up with Prince Harry on his recent trip to the UK, revealed the telling question he asked her about life in the UK

A pal of Prince Harry’s has revealed how he quizzed her on life in the UK when they caught up on his trip back to his homeland.

The duke made a whirlwind trip to the UK earlier this month to catch up with some of his most beloved causes here – and also had a long-awaited reunion with King Charles after not seeing each other for 19 months.

One of Harry’s engagements while in the UK was attending the WellChild Awards, where he bumped into the singer Joss Stone, who is a friend of the princes.

The mum-of-four attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018, and she says they swapped parenting tips, and probed her on her family’s recent move back to the UK from the US.

And she tellingly revealed to Hello!: “He also asked about how we were settling back in and was genuinely interested in our move home. He’s just very warm and down to earth, as always. Maybe Harry will move back too. That would be nice.

“He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” the singer added. “It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.”

Harry has spoke several times about how he would love to bring his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK to show them his homeland.

However, as he and his family is no longer automatically entitled to police protection when in the UK as he and wife Meghan are no longer working royals, he says he “does not feel safe” bringing his family to his home country.

In an interview after losing a court decision over his security arrangements, he admitted: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point.

“I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK, of course I do. I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

But after Harry spent 55 minutes having a private tea with the King at Clarence House last week, hopes are growing that it will mark a turn in relations between father and son, after Harry claimed his father was not speaking to him.

The rift, exacerbated by Harry and wife Meghan railing against the royals in their Netflix documentary and Harry’s book, Spare, means that Charles has barely seen his grandchildren.

It means that six-year-old Archie has only seen his grandfather a handful of times, while four-year-old Lilibet has only met him once, three years ago.

And according to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, the big question is will Harry bring his children to see his UK-based relatives.

She told the Mirror: “I’m sure it’s something that Charles would love, and Harry wants them to know and understand their heritage. But how can he square it with his complaints about the UK being unsafe unless he has full protection?”

“One of the stumbling blocks that has prevent Harry from bringing his whole family to the UK in recent years is a change to his security arrangements while here.

“An invitation to stay at a royal residence would solve it. But would that work? And would Meghan be welcome? Would she want to come? I rather doubt it. She’s happy doing her ‘thing’ in the States.

“Harry’s relationship with Charles has been scarred, deeply scarred, by all of this. But now they have started talking again, it makes you think: was it all really necessary?”
