Boy, 16, attacked ‘with knife’ in broad daylight Walthamstow incident

A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital following a daylight knife attack in Walthamstow. The teenager was found with a hand injury on Forest Road at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 17.

He was assessed by paramedics and taken for further treatment, though his injuries are not thought to be severe. Police believe the boy was assaulted shortly before officers were called.

A video posted on social media the same day shows a group in dark clothing beating a boy at the junction of Forest Road and Chingford Road. One of the people involved appears to be carrying a machete.

No one has been arrested in connection as of yet, the Metropolitan Police confirmed, with patrols in the area now stepped up. Witnesses, or anyone with information, is asked to come forward as soon as possible.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at around 15:30hrs on Wednesday, 17 September to reports a man had been assaulted with a knife on Forest Road, Walthamstow. Officers found a 16-year-old boy with an injury to his hand.

“He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital, where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing. There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries are ongoing. Officers have increased their patrols in the area.”
