Ealing hit and run sees woman in 20s fighting for life after being hit by motorbike

A woman is fighting for life following a hit-and-run involving a motorcyclist in Ealing. At about 5pm on Wednesday, September 17 the victim aged in her 20s was struck in Scotch Common, North Ealing.

Police say the motorcyclist was driving down the middle of the carriageway when the crash happened. The victim’s family are being supported by specialist officers.

The motorcyclist may have circled back towards the injured woman before fleeing off down Pitshanger Lane, police reckon. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are urging members of the public to come forward with any information following a serious collision in Scotch Common, North Ealing. At around 5pm on Wednesday, September 17 officers responded with the London Ambulance Service to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.

“Enquiries indicate that the motorcycle was driving down the middle of the carriageway before being involved in the collision. The pedestrian, a woman in her 20s was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

“Her family are aware and being supported by specialist officers.

“The motorcyclist did not stop at the scene and is believed to have driven back towards the scene before travelling down Pitshanger Lane. Police are seeking anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage or information to get in contact by calling 101 or online, quoting CAD4909/17SEP.

“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by submitting an online form.”
