It can be exciting spotting a charity shop bargain and purchasing the item for a good deal. And often with thrift shops, you might buy an item nobody else wants which could eventually be worth an absolute fortune.

However, in some cases you’re excited by your purchase, until you get home and give it another look. One man, known as Chris on TikTok, who is a part-time seller on eBay and Vinted, recently purchased a jacket from a charity shop which he was excited to bring home with him. When he returned back home, Chris felt like something in the pockets.

In a clip which racked up dozens of likes and comments, the bargain hunter wrote: “So I’ve just gone to take photos of this jacket that I bought from a charity shop the other day and I can feel something in the pockets.

“If you’ve watched one of my previous videos, I did actually find some money on a coat I picked up from a charity shop.

“What are we going to find in the pockets today? Let’s have a look.”

In the clip, Chris begins looking in the first pocket before quickly telling fans: “Lovely, dirty tissue. Great.”

Then moments later, he decides to investigate the other pocket.

“Another dirty tissue, oh look and we’ve got a sweet,” he quipped.

Clearly disgusted by the find, Chris then added: “Eurgh Jeez, don’t know what’s on that?”

Sadly the thrifty shopper wasn’t amazed by what was in his pockets but felt the need to tell his nearly 5,000 followers.

He has found hidden gems in pockets in the past, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case this time.

In the comments section, one said: “I always find dirty tissues,” while another added: “You’d think the staff would check pockets before putting them out for sale.”

Then a third chimed in: “Proves they are not washed before selling.” Others in the comments section admitted to finding money in the past, while someone discovered £100 in the pocket of his new Nike bag.

Previously, Chris bought a £10 box of rare coins from a charity shop with one turning out to be worth a fortune.

In a TikTok video, he admitted he doesn’t know much about coins and asked his followers to let him know their thoughts.

Much to his disappointment, he received numerous comments telling him they’re practically worthless and would only bring him £25 if he’s lucky.
