The prediction will be a welcome change to the recent more chilly weather
London may be getting an Indian summer with a week of glorious sunshine forecast. The prediction will be a welcome change to the recent more chilly weather.
Autumn has very much landed in the capital as temperatures drop to below 20 degrees and much morning commutes get much darker. But all hope isn’t lost – Londoners could be getting a week of clear skies and sun before the cold really sets in.
Tuesday, September 30 will see the start of the sunny spell, with clear skies and a temperature of 19C forecast. The late summer revival is then set to stretch all the way until the following Monday (October 6).
Rain will then creep in from Tuesday, when wind and drizzle are forecast, alongside temperatures of 17C.
The Met Office also predicts a warmer spell to begin from Saturday (September 27) – although they forecast some more cloud alongside the sunshine.
What can we expect in October?
October will be the start of the more unpredictable autumn UK weather pattern we’re all used to. The Met Office long-range forecast says: “Towards mid-October a more unsettled pattern may become established as the high moves south and eastwards.
“This would allow areas of low pressure from the North Atlantic move across the UK, with an increased chance of wet and windy conditions at times. Temperatures will probably remaining near-average.”
