What’s included in the Lush Halloween countdown
There’s no denying that Advent Calendars are getting more extravagant each and every year, and the countdown to Christmas seems to get more and more of an occasion to mark. But now, there’s another occasion that you need to count down to, and it’s one of the most exciting events of the year.
Halloween, October 31, has gained popularity over recent years, and brands have really caught onto it. From traditional pumpkin carving to bat string lights, Halloween-themed door mats and more, there are so many different things you can buy to mark the occasion. And the Lush Countdown to Halloween is one of them.
Retailing at £55, this countdown has seven spooky treats for you to enjoy while you bathe. From bath bombs to soap and even a hand cream, this is a sure-fire way for you to really make the month of October special and exciting, no matter your age.
Now, let’s discover what’s behind doors one to seven, shall we?
1. The Alchemist Bath Bomb (£6.50)
On their website, Lush writes: “Get ready to embrace the alchemical arts and transmute your bath into a swirling potion of mesmerising mari-golden waters, infused with mineral-rich sea salt and stimulating turmeric powder. An elixir of life … or as close as a bath can get”.
Truly, this bath bomb smells gorgeous, and the bigger the clean up after a bath bomb (thanks, gold glitter!), the better, right? We’re off to a very good start…
2. Palm Reader Naked Hand Cream (£9)
Lush writes: “Don’t leave soft hands down to fate: nourishing shea butter, soothing rosewater and beautifying koji paste practically guarantee it. And what’s this? Your love line tells of a luxurious, complex affair with the floral aromas of orange flower absolute and sophisticated woody notes. We’re jealous!”
This hand cream truly does leave your hands feeling as soft as the day you were born, and you’ll certainly be needing it as the temperatures continue to drop.
3. Bewitched Bubble Bar (£7)
Lush writes: “Something looks a little familiar, and it’s bought with it a whole coven of blackberry-scented bubbles to bewitch and beguile. Gaze deep into your fearsome feline’s eyes, inhale and be completely charmed by the grounding scent of olibanum oil. Then, with a twitch of the nose, you’re shaken to your senses by the uplifting aroma of bergamot oil”.
I can confirm that this bubble bar smells absolutely divine. Some people consider black cats to be unlucky, but personally, I think they’re absolutely adorable. If you’ve got a friend who’s a feline fan, they’d love one of these!
4. Demon In The Dark Soap (£6)
Lush writes: “Who said haunting couldn’t be a hoot? Bewitched with glow-in-the-dark powers to lure you in, if the refreshing aromas of peppermint, apple juice and warming clove bud oil didn’t possess you already”.
Yes, that’s right! Not only does this soap have an amazingly enticing peppermint smell, guaranteed to wake you up on those dark early starts, but it also glows in the dark…so I guess if you forgot to put a light on before you showered, it’s got you covered…
5. Skeleton Monster-Mash Head (£3)
Lush writes: “Give weary bodies some time to lay bone idle and enjoy the skeleton key to a comforting bathtime. Softening oat milk powder dissolves to form creamy skin-soothing water, while the sweet scent of ylang ylang helps you unwind — what a bone-us. Mix with a bubble bar body for your own twisted bathtime creation!”
This bath bomb feels so comforting on the skin and makes the bath water feel super soft thanks to the oat milk powder. Plus, it’s cheap enough so you can go and treat yourself to more!
6. Pumpkin Spice Latte Shower Gel (£8.50)
Lush writes: “You’re a barista’s worst nightmare, but we’re sure this decadent, moreish offering will keep even you satisfied. Swirls of indulgent coffee and vanilla absolute meet aromatic clove and cinnamon in the gourd-damn serve of the season”.
If you’re not into super sweet smells such as Yog Nog, but you can’t get enough of the glitter, this shower gel is absolutely perfect for you. Plus, you’ll smell absolutely divine long after the glitter has worn off.
7. Ghostie Bath Bomb (£5.50)
Lush writes: “Who’s the Ghostie with the mostie? When this friendly phantom hits the water, it unleashes a hauntingly fabulous experience. Lemongrass, lemon and lime oils magically mingle to create an irresistibly fresh citrus scent, while Ghostie crackles with popping candy and flies across the bath, leaving behind a fizzing rainbow trail and silky soft coconut milk waters.”
Ghostie is a product I look forward to every single Halloween. From the way it makes the water (and my skin!) feel, to the bright colours hidden within the white exterior that just give you a little boost, it’s a fantastic little product.
Final thoughts…
In total, these items individually will cost £45.50, so technically, you’re paying £9.50 for the packaging. However, I don’t believe you can put a price on having fun and the experience of opening everything. If you have the means to make your own countdown to Halloween to save the money, go for it – but I don’t feel you can beat the excitement of having it all there, ready to enjoy.
