A man recently bought a bin on Temu that cost him just £8.00; however, when the package arrived, he was left a little floored by what he found, and it’s pretty funny

When it comes to online shopping, lots of people buy items on Temu, though sometimes people can be left in stitches when their packages arrive. That’s exactly what happened to one man when he ordered a bin for £8.00 on the shopping platform, and the story is pretty hilarious.

If you’ve never heard of Temu before, it’s a Chinese-owned e-commerce marketplace that sells a vast range of products at super low prices by helping shoppers connect directly with manufacturers. Recently, Gareth bought a bin to go on a camping trip via the marketplace, and he was pretty happy that he bagged it for just £8.00, but something funny happened when it arrived at his door.

His wife, Bethany Anne, shared the story on TikTok, and the shopping tale left many people in stitches. It’s not the first time someone has been left howling after experiencing a slight Temu fail.

In the clip, Bethany said: “So, Gareth has bought a bin for camping on Temu. How much was that? Rough guess.” Gareth responded by telling her it was £8.00, and showing her the screen on his phone.

She continued: “Show me the picture again please. I reckon that will last us the week that. Show me the bin please.” Gareth then showed her what arrived, and the bin was absolutely tiny.

They couldn’t believe how small it was, as you could hardly fit anything in it. The situation left them in fits of laughter, and perhaps acts as a reminder that you should always check the product description before you buy online.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. Some opened up about their own shopping disasters.

One person said: “I got a paint by numbers on Temu and, when it arrived, it was a fully painted poster.” Another added: “Sobbing.”

A third replied: “I must have struck gold. I ordered a lunch bag and got a family-sized picnic bag. Colleagues found it very amusing.”

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “Been caught out so many times. I always check sizes and reviews now.” One more also chimed in with: “I had the same with a cheese grater. It was miniature.”

Some people were so amused they simply posted laughing emojis underneath. Another also joked it was so small it must be a bin for tea bags.

None the less, Gareth seemed quite happy with it for his camping trip, even if he did laugh at the shopping blunder. He’s not the first person to make an online shopping mistake though, as many have shared their Temu fails on social media.

In fact, in recent years, it’s become a bit of a trend. When people accidentally order tiny items, huge items or when something completely takes them by surprise, they often document it in online stories.

After all, when you laugh at something so much, it can be hard not to share it with others. When you order online, it’s vital to check the product details.
