An elderly man was robbed of his wallet while waiting for the life at a London Tube station. The 77-year-old had his wallet torn from him, which had been attacked to him with a chain.
He had been waiting for the lift at Finsbury Park Station at around 7.30pm on September 2, before a man restrained him and stole the wallet which contained £200.
Officers believe the man in the images could have information that may assist their enquiries. Detectives are asking anyone who may have information on the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Detectives investigating the robbery of an elderly man have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to. At around 7.30pm on Tuesday 2 September, a 77-year-old man was waiting for a lift at Finsbury Park Underground station when a man approached and restrained him.
“He then tore his wallet containing around £200 from him, which had been attached with a chain, and walked away. Officers believe the man in the images could have information that may assist their enquiries.
“Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016, or call 0800 40 50 40, using the reference 266 of 5 September. Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
