Another busy month in London’s criminal courts saw a spotter and getaway driver locked up over a shooting that rocked East London. Javon Riley’s 34-year sentence showed just how seriously the drive-by gun attack has been taken by the courts, after it nearly ended the life of a nine-year-old girl who took a bullet to the head.
There was also some justice for the late daughter of aristocrat Constance Marten and her rapist boyfriend Mark Gordon, as the couple went down for 14-years each after finally being convicted of manslaughter against baby Victoria. Nursery worker Roksana Lecker also shocked West Londoners with her ‘sadistic’ abuse of children under her care.
Elsewhere across the capital there were an array of shocking sex offence prosecutions, including an STI-spreading rapist who is thought to have infected more than 400 people. Transport police have also been busy, securing custodial sentences against a teenage quadruple Tube sex attacker, and a 22-year-old voyeur who filmed a woman in a toilet cubicle.
