When are Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Aldi & Lidl toy sales in 2025?

Supermarkets offer a great range of potential Christmas presents during these discount events

For some, it’s still too early to even be thinking about Christmas. But, for others who want to spread out the expense, it could be the perfect time to make a start on checking things off your to-do list.

With wishlists being written up by kids across the UK, people shopping for presents might find exactly what they’re looking for without heading to a toy shop. The supermarkets often have a selection of toys and gifts including some of the popular character that little ones love.

But, knowing when to buy is just as important as finding what to put underneath the tree this year. Stores like Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidl all have special events in the lead up to Christmas.

Making a note of a brand’s big toy sale events that come around every year can help you secure the perfect gift and also save a few quid in the process. Some shops offer as much as 50% off the original prices of certain items, while stocks last.

Asda’s Toy Event took place on September 8 and is now no longer available to shoppers. This list was accurate at the time of writing (October 2, 2025.)

Tesco

Tesco’s toy sale is already well underway – but shoppers still have a few weeks left to take advantage. The supermarket, which features aisles of items found in its toy partner, The Entertainer, launched its major sale on September 16 in selected large stores with further Clubcard Price deals available for Clubcard members.

Shoppers were told that the deals last for several weeks. The sale, which features more than 200 toys, runs until November 2 in over 260 stores nationwide.

Sainsbury’s

Compared to all the other stores, Sainsbury’s is coming in late with its offer – but it still gives plenty of time for people to bag a bargain. According to Christmas Countdown, the supermarket often sticks to October dates for its big toy sale, and 2025 is no exception.

Exact details of how much they’re cutting prices, and whether it’s online as well as in store, are yet to be confirmed. However, it is predicted that people will be able to get better deals from October 22.

Morrisons

Morrisons bosses confirmed the return of its big half-price toy sale, offering More Card customers significant savings on a selection of must-have gifts before the festive season. The event will run in selected Morrisons stores nationwide from Monday, October 6 until Sunday, October 26.

Shoppers can enjoy up to £70 off popular toys that are sure to be on many wishlists. The deal includes big-name brands like Barbie, LEGO, Gabby’s Dollhouse, Pokémon, Mario Kart, Hot Wheels and more.

Aldi & Lidl

Aldi isn’t a store that has toys on offer all year round, like the other big supermarkets. However, shoppers are eagerly anticipating the days that the middle aisles are packed with potential presents for children, and there are a few days to mark on the shopping calendars.

The ever-popular Wooden Toy Event, which has seen people queuing up outside their local stores from as early as 6am, is back first on October 9. After that, the festive catalogue (which has every item included in the Wooden Toy Event) revealed more upcoming SpecialBuy toy deals, including spotlights on Bluey, Disney and more during October and November.

Competing for the spotlight on October 9, Lidl has also confirmed its Wooden Toy sale is coming back, with items from as little as £1.99. Shoppers can browse the full range of what’s coming here.

At the time of writing, it is unconfirmed if Lidl will be holding any more toy sales in the lead-up to Christmas. Shoppers should keep an eye on the Middle of Lidl aisles for any bargains.
