The company which trades under the Ted Baker brand collapsed into administration last month, and it has now been confirmed that 15 stores will close for good
Ted Baker will close 15 stores permanently across the UK after the retailer collapsed into administration.
The store closures will result in around 245 job losses. Teneo Financial Advisory, which has been appointed as administrator of No Ordinary Designer Label Limited, confirmed the news in an update today. No Ordinary Designer Label Limited is owned by Authentic Brands Group and trades under the Ted Baker brand.
The administrators today revealed 11 Ted Baker stores will be shut by the end of next week, with the loss of around 120 jobs. A further four stores will also close after landlords served notice on the sites before the administration. These stores will shut “in the coming weeks” and result in approximately another 100 job losses. Meanwhile, around 25 head office workers will also be made redundant.
Ted Baker currently has 46 stores in the UK, a website and concessions. Before the administration, No Ordinary Designer Label Limited said the company had built up a “significant level of arrears” during a previous partnership and “damage” had been done.
Benji Dymant, joint administrator said: “Ted Baker is an iconic British brand with strong partners around the world. These store closures, whilst with a regrettable impact on valued team members, will improve the performance of the business, as Authentic continues to progress discussions with potential UK and European operating partners for the Ted Baker brand to bring the business back to health. We would like to thank Ted Baker team members and partners for their ongoing efforts and support at this difficult time.”
