Cordoba, located in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, draws plenty of tourists so it’s advisable to visit during quieter periods. If you’re considering making the journey, May, September or October would be the ideal months to go.
Within the city, you’ll discover a remarkable old town which holds UNESCO World Heritage status. As you meander through its streets, you’ll encounter charming independent shops and numerous cafes or eateries.

One of the most sought-after attractions in the vicinity is the La Mezquita mosque which originates from 784 AD. Its architecture and mosaic patterns are absolutely unmissable and you can discover the building’s fascinating past during your visit, reports the Express.

Would recommend getting the audio guide for only £3 over a guided tour as it is very informative and there are no signs to read. Very beautiful, stunning architecture and well preserved!”.
Cordoba is an extremely pedestrian-friendly city and visitors won’t require public transport to reach its key sights. Another essential destination in the area is the Palacio de Viana which is a magnificent residence and garden, formerly home to an aristocratic family. Today, this grand villa and its tropical gardens are open to the public.
