A Londoner made a trip up north to one of Hooters’ only UK branches, and they were surprised by the meal after having one of the ‘best’ things they’d ever experienced
A man has eaten at one of the only Hooters locations in the UK and one item he tried was one of the “best” he’s ever had. Laurence, who’s best known for his “let’s test” videos comparing cheap and expensive products, made a trip to the Nottingham restaurant to sample their menu.
Hooters has over 430 locations around the world and primarily serves burgers, steaks, and speciality chicken wings. The restaurant has faced heavy criticism, however, as they are known for the racy uniforms worn by waitresses – with many claiming the brand objectifies women. Despite controversy, the restaurant remains a popular eatery and has opened several locations in the UK. Laurence says the restaurant is popular “for its waitresses and selection of wings.”
Laurence drove two hours from London for the experience, and he didn’t come away disappointed.
When the aforementioned wings were delivered, Laurence said they smelled “absolutely incredible” and when dipped in the ranch sauce they were even better.
Laurence added: “These might actually be one of the best wings I’ve had in the UK. I’m not even saying that lightly. Look at that.”
Laurence also ordered onion rings and was blown away by the quality.
Taking a sip of a milkshake, the content creator said it was “nice and sweet” and made the accompaniment to the meal. The wings, onion rings, and milkshake cost Laurence a total of £25.90, a price Laurence said was “honestly not bad considering what we had.”
Viewers were thrilled by the quality of the food at Hooters, with some left trying to convince their friends to head to the restaurant.
One person wrote: “I went to Hooters in Toronto a few years ago. I’ve tried to convince my best mate (who lives near Nottingham) to go to Hooters in Nottingham with me but he’s not interested.”
Workers at the Nottingham branch previously explained the restaurant is loved by families and ‘mixed’ groups. Manager Olivia Wright spoke about the restaurant’s clientele in an interview with The Mirror.
She said: “People assume it’s predominately men but it’s definitely not the case as it’s completely mixed. We have a lot of families coming in as we are a neighbourhood-friendly restaurant and children eat free on a Sunday.
“We do get a lot of men but women love sports too so it’s mixed. We get a lot of hen dos and I love when they come in as we get to make them feel like they are part of the Hooter’s brand.”
She added of the uniform: “Everyone is different and feels differently. I feel the uniform is amazing and body confident. It makes women feel amazing and empowered.
“I’ve never had anyone feel uncomfortable about wearing it and we wouldn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable in that situation.”
