The man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Ealing in 2024 has been named. Alvin Ghati, 43, (06.06.1982) of Uxbridge Road, Ealing, was charged with murder yesterday (Wednesday, 8 October). Police were called at approximately 3.13pm on Tuesday, 26 March (2024) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a woman at an address in Riverside Close, Ealing. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 35-year-old woman suffering injuries. Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. She has been named as Vivienne Baraka and her family are being supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination showed she had died from compression to the neck. Ghati was arrested at the scene before being released under investigation. He was re-arrested on Wednesday, 8 October and charged as above. He is set to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 October.
Vivienne’s family said: “Vivienne had an infectious smile, was a mother, sister, daughter and was a bubbly person who was full of life. Vivienne was outgoing and loved to support her family, friends and community.
“The family continues to struggle with her untimely departure and aren’t sure if time will ever bring solace or healing after she was taken too soon from us.”
