Completely transform scrambled eggs with the simple addition of two ingredients.
Scrambled eggs are a breakfast staple, with everyone having their own preferred method of cooking, texture, and flavour.
However, one TikTok creator has argued that there are two extra ingredients that will completely transform the flavour of your scrambled eggs.
As reported by reports the Express, Jack – known as Run and Eat with Jack – has been compiling a list of some of the best scrambled egg recipes from around the world.
So far he’s tried scrambles from the likes of France, Turkey, the USA, Korea, and Greece. In a recent video, he tried flavours from Spain.
Upon trying the eggs, he concluded: “Mm, smoky, cheesy, and spicy. It’s excellent.” But which ingredients do you need to take your scrambled eggs to the next level?
Apparently, it’s chorizo and manchego cheese. Jack said: “When you hit one of those pockets of cheese that is a taste sensation.”
Jack ultimately gave the eggs a 9.1 out of 10 rating, putting the scrambled eggs into second place, just behind France’s entry of Croque Monsieur Scramble.
So far, the video has been viewed over 9,429 times, receiving 896 likes and 14 comments.
One fan named Jan wrote: “I mean eggs, sausage and cheese… that can’t be bad!” Another called Molly commented: “Chorizo is the best addition always!”
One more contributor, Nina, suggested: “If you haven’t done Japan yet you should do mentaiko.”
Another simply said “eggcelent” while another replied: “You should try scrambles with chanterelle mushrooms and chives , you can top with polish smoked sausage too.”
Here’s how you can whip up these Spanish-style scrambled eggs in your own kitchen.
Chorizo and Manchego Scramble
Ingredients
- Three large eggs
- One large or two small slices of bread
- 45g chorizo
- 30g manchego
- ½ tsp paprika
- Chives, for garnish
Method
Start by dicing the chorizo and placing it into a saucepan, cooking until the fat is rendered out and it becomes crispy. Once it’s reached this point, remove a few pieces and set them aside for later.
Next, add in the paprika. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and season with a bit of salt and pepper.
Now, pour the eggs into the saucepan. Just before the eggs are fully cooked, stir in the chopped manchego cheese.
Toast your bread and then divide the egg mixture between the slices. Finish off each serving with the chorizo pieces you set aside earlier, followed by a sprinkle of chives.
