Ilford resident stabbed in midnight robbery as armed men broke into home and stole car

An East London resident was stabbed after four unknown men with weapons broke into their home. The aggravated burglary took place in Ilford in the early hours of Tuesday, April 9.

Police were called to a residential property in Middleton Gardens at 12.46am after four men armed with weapons broke into a property. They stole various items including a car.

One of the two residents of the house suffered a number of injuries in the burglary. One of which was a stab wound to the leg.

The four men managed to flee the scene before the police had arrived. The Met attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are yet to track down the culprits and no arrests have been made. A spokesperson for the Met said: “Police were called to a residential property in Middleton Gardens, Ilford at about 12.46am on Tuesday, April 9 following reports of an aggravated burglary.

“It was reported that four unknown men armed with weapons broke into the property and stole various items including a car. One of the two occupants suffered a number of injuries as a result of the incident, including a stab wound to the leg.

“Officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspects had fled prior to police arrival.

“At this stage no arrests have been made and urgent enquiries continue.”
