No arrests have been made in any of the three investigations

A third person has been stabbed in Catford in the space of just five days. Police rushed to Canadian Avenue at 6pm yesterday (Monday, October 20) after a teenage boy was knifed.

He was taken to hospital where injuries were found to be neither life threatening or changing. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed officers are still hunting for the attacker with no arrests made at this time.

Anyone with information in relation to this knife attack is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5810/20OCT. Last Wednesday (October 15) two serious stabbings occurred within a five-hour period in the town centre.

Sanchini Thompson, 27, was stabbed to death outside Poundland in Rushey Green shortly after 3am. A post-mortem examination revealed he had been knifed in the chest before the attacker fled the scene.

He has been described as a “pillar of kindness” and a “devoted father” to his four-year-old daughter, but Sanchini’s family is still waiting for justice with no arrests reported so far. “He gave freely of himself sharing his time, his laughter, to bring joy to others, always prioritising the happiness and well-being of those around him,” a statement issued by the victim’s loved ones said.

“His generosity knew no bounds, and his compassion touched friends, neighbours, and strangers alike. Words cannot fully capture the depth of our gratitude for him and the impact of his kindness on our lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain with us in the love he shared and the memories we will carry forward.”

The same morning a man was stabbed in Mountsfield Park at 8.05am. The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries, although the extent of these are yet to be confirmed by the Metropolitan Police.

A nearby resident told MyLondon they heard a scream from the park, while a path running through the middle of Mountsfield Park was taped off throughout the day.

There have also been no arrests in relation to this investigation.
