“We always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges. “
A leading supermarket has discontinued a beloved chocolate product, though devoted customers may still have reason for optimism. M&S’s 150g Gigantic Mint Buttons have been removed from shelves for an indefinite period.
TikToker (@awesomeisdifferent) spotted the absence of the chocolates in M&S stores, revealing she was unable to locate them “anywhere”. She remarked: “I’m going to have one a day to savour the moment.”
She confessed that she might simply end up “eating them all”, reports the Express. A fellow user concurred, commenting: “Those mint buttons are divine!”.
Customer reviews online demonstrate the product has a dedicated following, with one shopper noting they “disappeared very quickly in my house”. Another described them as “excellent” and “minty enough” whilst not being “like a breath freshener”.
However, enthusiasts of the Gigantic Mint Buttons shouldn’t lose heart just yet. M&S stated: “We always listen to customer feedback when reviewing future ranges.”
For now, M&S stocks alternative options, including the Gigantic Orange Buttons and the Milk Chocolate Giant Buttons.
This follows M&S unveiling their festive range, which is partially available in shops and for online purchase, with deliveries scheduled for 22 December and 24 December.
The range features a tear-and-share garlic butter brie wreath, a build-by-numbers charcuterie and antipasti grazing platter, and a Christmas sausage roll garland.
An M&S spokesperson commented: “At M&S Food we are constantly innovating and refreshing our range, reacting to trends, and customer feedback.
“We have a great selection of treat bags and chocolate boxes in our Foodhalls including our luxurious Swiss Chocolatier Crispy Clouds selection, our incredibly moreish Belgian chocolate Pick ‘n’ Marks range and customer favourite, the After Dinner Mint Collection.”
The high street giant has also revealed it will be shutting 11 cafeĢs located within its smaller food stores as part of an ongoing transformation of its retail portfolio.
M&S confirmed on Monday that the cafeĢ closures form part of plans to free up space for more sought-after products. The company emphasised that no redundancies will result from the changes, with affected employees remaining in their current stores.
The closures will impact less than 4% of the retailer’s 316 food outlets. A spokesperson for M&S said: “As we look to modernise our food business and offer the best of M&S Food to more people, more often, we’re investing in our store estate to give our customers the widest possible product range.”
