The chain, which has dozens of branches across the UK, is loved for its Scandinavian-influenced homeware, with furniture and kitchen necessities on sale as well as stationery and seasonal goods

A growing retailer has opened its 61st UK store in a commuter town just outside South London and it quickly proved popular, attracting hundreds of enthusiastic shoppers to the grand opening on Friday (October 24). Danish homeware brand Søstrene Grene is now in Crawley’s County Mall after taking over a unit that had remained empty for five years, formerly occupied by Monsoon.

The first 100 customers through the doors of the shop, which is a 30 minute drive from Croydon, were given a voucher for a complimentary rug, heightening the anticipation. The shop’s design boasts a labyrinth-style arrangement, inviting customers to browse and uncover items at their leisure. Gentle illumination and classical music create a soothing retail experience.

Store manager Alyssa characterised the outlet as a venue fostering “peace and serenity,” embodying the brand’s dedication to establishing a peaceful setting for customers, reports the Express.

Søstrene Grene is celebrated for its Scandinavian-influenced homeware, providing an array of items from furniture and kitchen necessities to stationery and seasonal goods. The company champions a “hygge” way of life, encouraging comfort, simplicity, and wellness.

The Crawley branch marks the 61st in the UK and expands the brand’s increasing footprint in Sussex, alongside current sites in Horsham and Brighton, as well as many stores in London including in Bromley, Wimbledon, Kingston, Canary Wharf, King’s Cross and Tottenham Court Road.

The opening of Søstrene Grene’s Crawley outlet marks a significant step in the brand’s UK growth, mirroring its increasing popularity amongst British shoppers. With ambitions to double its UK outlets by 2027, Søstrene Grene continues to introduce its distinctive mix of Scandinavian design and lifestyle to communities nationwide.
