Shoppers in Marks and Spencer have been left baffled after spotting a bedding with a design on it that they never thought they would see on the shelves, likening it to something grim

Shoppers have been left horrified after browsing in Marks and Spencer and seeing something they never expected to see on the shelves. M&S have really upped their game in recent years, designing some gorgeous clothes and appealing to a whole new audience, earning itself a great reputation among all generations, with many TikToks and reels focused on the brand and styling their clothes and homewares.

However, they may have missed the mark this time, as people have been slating their latest bedding offering, saying that it looks like there is “poo” on the sheets, which likely isn’t the vibe they were going for.

The £39.50 bedding has been described on the M&S website as having “all-over Dalmatian-inspired print,” referring to it as a “playful choice”.

However, some people have said that it’s not a playful choice, and it looks curiously like it’s covered in poo.

And it’s not just bedding they’re selling in this print, it’s also on “splatter mugs,” too, which will set you back £6.

The odd discovery was made in M&S, Longbridge, Birmingham, on Saturday (25 Oct), and the eagle-eyed anonymous shopper said that it “genuinely looks like poo splattered on a bed sheet”. Not exactly a rave review of the product…

They said: “It’s not something I’d want to wake up in. When I was walking past it, I had to do a double-take. Surely the designer noticed it too. I was even more taken aback when I spotted the mugs with the same pattern.

“I don’t think I’d be able to drink a coffee out of a cup like that – it would turn my stomach.”

But, they’re not the only brand all over the Dalmatian or cow print trend, because it’s everywhere at the minute – including in H&M.

When shopping in the home section, some made a similar observation about their crockery in the speckled-glaze homeware range, which includes £7.99 bowls, £9.99 mugs, plates and jugs and a £14.99 butter dish.

But people were left divided on whether they liked the design, and whether it was something that they’d want to eat or drink from.

Someone wrote: “My husband decorates our toilet in the exact same pattern. Might as well get something to match in the kitchen”.

Another said: “Those are the plates that you use when you don’t want guests to return”.

A person described it as “Taco Bell restroom chic”. However, some said that they thought the designs were “cute,” and they wanted to buy them.

M&S has been approached for a comment.
