Tilly Ramsay has triumphed over parents Gordon and Tana in an Ironman race in Greece. She completed the AEH IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Navarino, Greece, in a time of 6hrs 0mins 40secs, securing fourth place in her age group and outpacing her father by a remarkable 43 minutes.

The rising star chef, who only participated in her first triathlon just 10 weeks ago, crossed the finish line ahead of her father, who finished with a time of 6:44.38. Tana, who managed to overtake Gordon during the run, completed the race in 6:10.07.

Swapping their kitchen aprons for aero helmets, Gordon was joined in the race by fellow chef Paul Ainsworth. Paul clocked a personal best time of 5:29.17, a fantastic achievement for the chef who is known for his appearances on BBC’s Saturday Brunch, MasterChef, and numerous other British TV shows, as well as owning several acclaimed restaurants including Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 in Cornwall.

In recent years, he has embraced Ironman triathlon racing, competing in IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun in both 2024 and 2025. An Ironman 70.3 triathlon comprises a 1.2-mile swim (1.9-kilometre), a 56-mile bike ride (90-kilometres), and a 13.1 mile run (a half marathon) to round off the event.

Tilly, Gordon, Tana and Paul took a break from their hectic filming schedules to participate in the race. Tilly, who boasts over a million Instagram followers and nearly 10 million TikTok followers, is swiftly following in her father’s culinary footsteps, making a name for herself both in the kitchen and on screen, including her latest series Dish It Out on Amazon Prime, reports the Mirror.

She has also served as a judge on MasterChef Junior and competed on Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing and MasterChef Australia. Now, she’s independently pursuing her culinary education and trying her hand at triathlon, with evident success.

Gordon, who most recently participated in the IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich-Région Moselle in July, was keen to better his overall time. He performed well in the swim and bike sections, finishing nearly eight minutes faster than his previous race in Luxembourg.

His wife, Tana, who previously raced with him at the IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire triathlon in 2015, joined him once again.

With running being Tana’s strongest discipline, she completed the run with ease, clocking the family’s fastest time at 2:02.41. Upon crossing the finish line, Gordon declared: “We are officially an IRON Family! This race was cooked to perfection. The swim was smooth; the bike was tricky at points but just so beautiful and the run challenged me, but we got there. Most importantly I’m so proud of Tilly and Tana who absolutely crushed it.”

Tilly, who impressively clinched the family victory, remarked: “Competing with my family made the whole experience so special…and it was really nice to put Dad in his place today! Triathlon has given me a new way to challenge myself and stay grounded, and I can see why so many people become so passionate about it. I’m just starting to cook with IRONMAN, this will not be my last.”

Tana expressed: “Racing today with my family and friends, is what it is all about! I loved every second.”

Paul shared: “From cooking together to competing together – it’s been quite a journey! It’s brilliant to share this experience together, and to see how that same drive we had in the kitchen translates to triathlon.”

The entire family were engaged throughout race week, even 6 year old Oscar Ramsay participated in the IRONKIDs in Pylos on Saturday, October 25. A proud Gordon embraced him at the finish line and hoisted him onto his shoulders to celebrate his race. Paul’s daughter Ci Ci also took part and was one of the top five finishers.

Gordon Ramsay appeared in Ironman’s six-part docuseries Beyond Finish Lines, hosted by three-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist Jan Frodeno. The episode – Finding Your Best Self – highlights chef and triathlon finisher Gordon, filmed during his race at IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich-Région Moselle.
