The Duchess of Sussex has shared a wholesome video of her family preparing for Halloween, finally giving royal fans a glimpse of her children’s faces after years of censoring them online

After years of carefully censoring their children’s faces online, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared an unobstructed glimpse of their young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a wholesome glimpse into their family life, with their kids frolicking around a pumpkin patch , before picking their own stellar pumpkins, carving them ahead of Halloween on Friday.

While many were quick to marvel at Harry’s pumpkin carving skills, it was six-year-old Archie and four-year-old Lili who captured the attention of viewers, as the children were featured front on for the first time in years, with their faces on full display.

In a time-lapse, sped-up clip of Prince Harry carving a pumpkin, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet could be seen playing around in the background, with the youngsters then turning towards the camera in a very rare moment.

When capturing family moments to share online, Harry and Meghan usually film or snap their kids from behind, or obscure their faces by using carefully placed emojis to protect their image.

Princess Lilibet has only been seen in public a handful of times, with Harry and Meghan releasing official photographs of their daughter several years ago. More recently, she featured on Meghan’s Instagram as she shared snaps of their trip to Disneyland for Lili’s birthday, although her face was obscured.

As Prince Archie was born when Harry and Meghan were still working royals, there were often photos of the young prince circulating, but they came to an abrupt end when the Duke and Duchess quit the Firm and relocated to California. Archie’s face has not been shown since the Sussex’s Christmas card in 2021 featured a family photo.

The video comes just weeks after Harry and Meghan spoke about the dangers of social media and its impact on young people during the World Mental Health Day gala in New York City. The couple were awarded the Humanitarians of the Year award at the Project Healthy Minds event, taking to the stage for a rousing speech.

Meghan used her time on stage to speak about her children Archie and Lilibet, and the dangers of the online landscape. She said: “Our children, Archie and Lili, are just six and four years old. Luckily still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming.”

“Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits, while safeguarding against its dangers. That hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.”

Harry joined his wife on stage and added: “This is a pivotal moment in our collective mission to protect children and support families in a digital age.”
