A man has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death in a home in Tulse Hill. Robert Sabat, 59, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and threatening a person with an offensive weapon.
The 42-year-old woman, who has not yet been named by police, was found dead with multiple stab wounds at McCormick House at around 5pm on Monday. Police had rushed to High Trees, in the St Martin’s Estate, Lambeth, at about 5pm, after emergency workers were threatened with a knife.
A 59-year-old man was tasered at the scene of the fatal stabbing. The woman’s family have been informed, and are being supported by specialist officers.
Sabat appeared before Croydon Magistrates on Wednesday, October 29, where he was remanded into custody. He will appear before the Old Bailey on Friday (October 31).
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.16pm on Monday 27 October to reports of an incident on Tulse Hill, SW2.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew and an incident response officer.
“Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
