Gillette Fusion5 razor blades offering ‘long-lasting’ shave see price cut for ‘limited time’

Shoppers can save almost 25% on the razor blades that are said to offer a precision shave

Blunt, inefficient razor blades are a recipe for itching, irritation and accidental cuts, so getting fresh, precise blades are a priority for many. Bulk-buying can save shoppers a decent chunk of money, and Amazon has a deal on Gillette blades that are designed to offer a ‘long-lasting’ shave where buyers can save almost 25% on their purchase.

A pack of 16 Gillette Fusion5 Razor Blades is currently on sale at Amazon for £29.72, saving shoppers 24% on the retail price of £39.07. Each razor head is fitted with five anti-friction blades, which are said to work for 20 shaves before they should be disposed of.

They are fitted with a specially spaced larger lubrastrip for a seamless glide, according to the brand, and there’s a precision trimmer on the back to ‘achieve a cleanly sculpted shave’. All Fusion5 blades fit all Gillette Fusion5 razor handles, and according to the brand they are best used with the Gillette Fusion shave gel for ultimate comfort.

For those who don’t use Gillette razors, Boots has a deal on a pack of four Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Ultimate Men’s Razor Blade Refills, now £8.62 down from £11.50. These ones have ‘unique hydrating gel pools enriched with menthol to care for sensitive skin’, the brand says, and are compatible with all Hydro razors.

Back at Amazon, shoppers can also get a pack of 12 5-Blade Replacement Cartridges that work with by Amazon razor handles for £11.34. They’re said to be suitable for sensitive skin, lubricated with shea butter and jojoba oil, and shoppers say they are ‘actually fantastic’. Wilkinson Sword also sells a Classic Double Edge Razor for £19.99.

The Gillette Fusion5 Razor Blades have plenty of fans at Amazon. One shopper said: “They’re sharp, fit well in the handle and guarantee a smooth shave with minimal irritation.”

Another added: “I wouldn’t use any other brand. Only Gillette can make the perfect razor blades.”

A third said: “Excellent set of razors and at the time was cheaper than buying from the chemist or supermarket. The shave is smooth and close with no irritation.”

Some shoppers found they weren’t right for them, though. One said: “Blades don’t last as long as they used to.”

Another said: “I have been using these blades for quite a while and find them very good.” However, they added: “Sadly these blades have not lived up to expectations. They barely last a week so I will be not using this supplier again.”
