The M&S shop on Brixton Road will transform into a fresh-market-style food hall offering more for its customers than ever before. The food hall will now come with an onsite bakery, dedicated Flower Shop and Wine Shop, alongside a hot food counter.

The store will temporarily close on Thursday, April 11, so that the work can take place, reopening in the autumn of this year.

With the addition of some new parts of the store, other services will be lost. The store will no longer have a Clothing & Home section, however, there will be a Click & Collect point in-store meaning that customers will still be able to collect their online orders.

The Brixton store will be out of commission for a couple of months meaning that the closest M&S stores for local residents are Streatham High Road, Streatham Hill, Dulwich and Clapham Junction. The nearest full-line store is in Victoria Cardinal Place.

Mark Aldridge, Store Manager at M&S Brixton, said: “We’re so excited to unveil our new-look food hall to customers later this year and it’s fantastic to have this investment in the future of M&S in Brixton.

“A bigger and better food hall means even more delicious M&S Food products, from fresh fruit and vegetables grown by our Select Farmers to our Remarksable Value range and iconic Dine In. We’ll be able to offer more choice and a brilliant shopping experience.”

The store is located at 446 Brixton Road, SW9 8ED
